“I have worked for two years with PDC Aviation Suite in NextJet – and earlier also in another airline,” says Kenneth Norling.
“I am very satisfied with the functionality and the features that are included. Generally, the systems from PDC cover my needs –
even if I compare them with the solutions I originally worked with from a major competing solution provider.”
“I particularly appreciate PDC's support and skilled staff as well as the responsiveness they have to suggestions from customers. When I have a problem or a query, then I easily and quickly get in contact with PDC's supporters or developers. They take all feedback seriously and act on the inquiries. I see that in the program development - and there is much development all the time.”
“I value PDC's proximity to their customers which is also demonstrated during the annual user group meetings. Every year we are invited to meet with PDC and colleagues from other airlines. Being updated on the latest program news and PDC’s plans for the future has great value - but it is also beneficial to meet and discuss with colleagues. The user group meetings always offer a two-way communication between PDC and customers which often leads to good and productive discussions. Indeed, they are appreciated.”
Says Kenneth Norling, Operations Controller at NextJet
| NextJet is a Swedish airline established in 2001 by five newly graduated pilots. Today, NextJet operates18 aircrafts and in average they schedule 90 flights and 175 crew members every day. |
Recently, Cimber Sterling acquired PDC StaffPlan.
PDC StaffPlan is a rostering system that we use for
440 of our employees - of which 150 are maintenance staff.
Maintaining aircrafts requires that skilled technicians are
available during ground stops and PDC StaffPlan provides us
with a great overview and balances required staff to the
jobs.
PDC StaffPlan provides online integration between the flight operational system and the maintenance planning system. This creates a resource profile for each ground stop and a graphical overview of the staff required and the staff available. Using the facilities of PDC-StaffPlan the planner makes good and cost effective shift plans and reduces the administrative work significantly.
There is also a cost issue to rostering. Flight tables change all the time and staff over-time should be avoided, labor rules must be applied, etc. Using PDC StaffPlan Cimber Sterling centrally makes rostering for staff at five different locations. What used to occupy a full-time person is now managed in a part-time job and resource profiles are made up to a year in advance enabling to balance the staff requirements.

"ACL coordinates some of the busiest airports in the world. We therefore need flexibility, stable and secure capacity management systems in order to deliver high quality service to airlines and airports. ACL has chosen the SCORE system which is used worldwide to coordinate more than 80 airports."
says Chris Bosworth , managing director of ACL in
England.
"We use SCORE since 1991. For this long period we appreciate the stability of the system as well as the innovation projects and the developing of the software according needs of the growing number of clients and the industry requirements. At the beginning of 2007 Slot Coordination Switzerland introduced Online Coordination."
says Erich Rindlisbacher, managing director of Slot Coordination Switzerland
"Since the implementation of PDC-StaffPlan we no longer need to run all developments and innovations ourselves. With the former system we had to run everything being our own single customer. Management of salary data has become much smoother eg. due to a regular registration of deviations according to our plans - and not a tedious task to be performed by the end of a month. We plan and schedule according to actual demand and need profiles provided by external systems. This is a great advantage in our world where resource demands change all the time. Using the data warehouse functionality we have direct and easy access to all relevant management information. The “Cost” module enables us to analyze profitability on each individual business area based on actual performed work."
Kurt Aulbjerg, Staff Manager Billund Airport A/S
”I felt my heart sink when I was contacted by my CEO saying ”We are going to
start managing our own slots!”.
By that time Neos had a great ops planning system. It had been created for Neos in
accordance to our specific requests but no part of the system was dedicated to
slot management. So how were we supposed to fulfill that request?
We needed a system or a module that was able to connect with Neos’ existing
system and at the same time manage our activities.
We found that a great challenge to solve but looking for a solution
we came across
PDC-Aviation. PDC-Aviation had many years of experience with slot coordination
and management so we contacted them immediately. With PDC-SlotManagement we were
offered a solution which showed to meet all our necessities.
Today, we are happy with the quality of PDC-SlotManagement – not to mention
working together with PDC-Aviation who is very responsive and efficient when we
require support from their staff.”
"By implementing PDC StaffPlan in Madrid and Barcelona airports we have remarkably reduced the time we used for making rosters.
Previously we were dependent on 3 systems whereas we now only need one.
Our employees are more satisfied now that the planners
are able on the fly to see if vacation can be granted.
The system has ended previous discussions on whether or
not the rosters complied with collective agreements now
we know for sure that we don't violate the agreements. Last but not least Prolog Development Center was chosen
as we needed a short and fast implementation. A choice that has proven right."
